Saturday open thread: What is the Lions’ biggest strength?

Where have the Lions improved most upon this offseason (already)?

On Friday, we discussed what the team’s biggest needs were after the first wave of free agency. At the time of writing this, nearly half of you believe the No. 2 cornerback position is the team’s biggest hole on the roster. Right guard is not far behind in voting (25%) and linebacker comes in third (13%).

Now let’s look at the other side of the coin. It’d be hard to argue the Lions haven’t already improved a little bit, despite letting go of Glover Quin, T.J. Lang and Nevin Lawson. The additions of Trey Flowers, Justin Coleman and Jesse James have highlighted an aggressive, exciting start to free agency.

So today’s Question of the Day is:

What is the Lions’ current biggest strength?

My answer: While I think the secondary is close to being very impressive right now, it’s hard to say anything other than the defensive line right now. Just take a look at this:

Throw in Romeo Okwara, who is a great fit in the scheme and should be much better in a reduced role in 2019, and you’ve got a pretty impressive haul there. Detroit could use a little more depth to make sure they can rotate these guys in and out, but that starting lineup should make NFC North quarterbacks sweat.

Your turn.
