The first wave of the Detroit Lions free agency class has taken the next step towards being members of their new team. The Lions announced on Monday afternoon that the team’s three biggest signings, defensive end Trey Flowers, tight end Jesse James and cornerback Justin Coleman, all have official numbers:

Flowers will move to 90 after holding the number 98 with the Patriots. Veteran defensive tackle Damon Harrison Sr. currently holds Flowers’ old number, so it makes sense Flowers would move to 90.
James will assume No. 83. Previously, James held the number 81 with the Steelers, but you have to wonder if the Lions asked him to move on from that jersey number in respect to Calvin Johnson.
Finally, there’s Coleman, who will be taking No. 27, the same number of the recently departed Glover Quin. Coleman previously wore 28 with the Seahawks, but that number is currently taken by Quandre Diggs.
