One of the neater things about the NFL Combine is the donation efforts from NFL Network’s Rich Eisen. Every year, Eisen raises money for the St. Jude Children’s Hospital. He, himself, traditionally runs the 40-yard dash in his full suit and jacket in an effort to raise awareness for his charitable efforts and asks viewers to submit videos of their own 40s. It’s an extremely entertaining endeavor and one for a great cause.
This year, NFL Network co-host and former Lions head coach Steve Mariucci encouraged NFL coaches to get involved, asking them to pull out their checkbooks to support children in need.
According to Eisen, Lions head coach Matt Patricia stepped up to the plate. Here’s Eisen retelling the story live on air Saturday.

“Moments ago, Matt Patricia did what (Steve) Mariucci did yesterday,” Eisen said on Saturday. “I’ll say this, he didn’t want to be on camera or anything but I’m going to give him a shoutout anyways. He just dropped off a check for St. Jude's Children Research Hospital. Very generous check.”
Patricia follows in the footsteps of his mentor, Bill Belichick, who annually gives to Eisen’s charity at the NFL Combine.
