The Detroit Lions have been the forgotten team of the NFC North this offseason. Look at pretty much any set of power rankings, and you’ll see the Bears, Vikings and Packers all in the top half of the league. Meanwhile, the Lions are likely languishing in the bottom 10 somewhere.

Just take a look at the Vegas odds for the NFC North crown in 2019:

But Lions head coach Matt Patricia isn’t bothered by that. In fact, he loves it.

Patricia joined NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football” on Tuesday and explained why he’s fine with the Lions flying under the radar.

“I love that. Let’s just keep pumping those guys up,” Patricia said via NFL.com. “I think the Bears are great. I think the Packers are awesome. And obviously Minnesota is over the top. So, that’s perfect. We’ve got a lot of work to do. And those guys are great, so hopefully we’ll be able to hang in there with them.”

Everyone loves a good underdog story, and it appears Patricia is happy starring in his own version. Now it’s up to him to prove them all wrong.
