Sunday open thread: What Lions player do you want to hear about at OTAs?

We’ll be covering OTAs starting this week. Who do you want to hear about?

NFL: NFL Draft Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Detroit Lions begin organized team activities on Monday, meaning they’re about to enter Phase 3 of the offseason. For the first time, teams will be able to participate in every normal football drill that you’d see during the regular season... with one major exception: no pads.

But 9-on-9s, 7-on-7s, 11-on-11s will be happening this upcoming week, just no live contact.

So that means we may get some ideas of what the offensive scheme may look like, what the Lions have in plan for some of their new players and just get a better idea of this team’s talent level.

So today’s Question of the Day iS:

What player are you most interested to hear about at OTAs?

My answer: It has to be Jahlani Tavai. There’s not only intrigue on what the Lions saw in Tavai that most draft analysts didn’t, but I’d like to know what the Lions’ plans are for Tavai in 2019 and beyond. Could he be taking over middle linebacker to give Jarrad Davis more of an opportunity to move around and be more of a pass rusher like at the end of 2018? Is he just going to be their utility option that can do anything? Will the Lions take him along slowly and just use him sparingly in Year 1?

We obviously won’t get all these answers over the next few weeks, but we may get some hints.

We’ll have some coverage of OTAs live from Allen Park this week, so share some of the players you’d like us to keep an extra eye on.

Your turn.
