After the conclusion of Saturday’s Eastern Conference Championship between the Milwaukee Bucks and Toronto Raptors, the Raptors earned the chance to be decapitated by the Golden State Warriors punched their ticket to the NBA Finals for the first time ever. As the confetti fluttered from the rafters to the hardwood, and the broadcast cut to shots of “Jurassic Park” and the Raptors faithful celebrating their victory and all the promise it brought of a chance to compete for a championship on the world’s stage. And Torontonians, in a very on-brand move, were on their best behavior after the Raptors win.
All of this talk of winning and celebrating a new accomplishment got me thinking about that all-elusive moment Lions fans have been chasing—and today’s “Question of the Day.”
The Lions just made the Super Bowl—what’s your next move?
First, some context.
It’s been 10,000+ days since the Lions won a playoff game, and that’s like 27.4 years. I’m 28 years old as of last Saturday, so I have no idea what it’s like to experience your professional football team win a truly meaningful football game in January.
So yeah, this is truly some fantasy writing here. Suppose it depends on where I am, but on second thought, it really doesn’t matter in the slightest. If the Lions were to win the NFC Championship Game, I’d put myself in a car, hop on I-75 southbound, and end up at a table at Sweetwater Tavern for a basket of wings.
Your turn.
(Also, Raptors in 6; protect Kawhi at all costs).
