Ask POD: Digesting the NFL Draft

The PODcast mailbag is back, and ready for your post-draft questions.

It seems every year, tensions are high following the NFL Draft. Rarely will your favorite team make a selection of picks that is universally praised. We trick ourselves into falling in love with a handful of prospects, only to be disappointed when the Detroit Lions pass over “our guy.”

But now comes the next stage in drafting grief: Acceptance. This, too, is a yearly occurrence. We either accept that everything we knew before the draft was bupkis, or we convince ourselves that the Lions know what they’re doing and we should just trust the process.

So the PODcast crew will convene this weekend with now a week to fully digest what happened last week and see if our tune has changed at all with the research done in the past week. Is Jahlani Tavai going to be a Hall of Famer? Obviously. Will Amani Oruwariye take over the CB2 spot immediately and become the next Darius Slay. Of course. And will T.J. Hockenson live up to his draft billing and become Gronk 2.0? Nah, he’ll probably be even better.

Anyways, the PODcast mailbag returns this week, so it’s your opportunity to be a part of our weekly show. In the comment section below or using the hashtag #AskPOD on twitter, send us any and all of your questions.
