Drafted eighth overall in the 2019 NFL Draft, T.J. Hockenson is expected to be an instant contributor in the Detroit Lions offense, and fans will be well-equipped to play out those high expectations before Hockenson has a chance to hit the field in the latest installment of pixelated football.
The folks over at EA Sports released the ratings for the 2019 NFL Draft class in Madden NFL 20 earlier this morning, and Hockenson checked in with the fifth-best overall (77) of any rookie, tied with Jacksonville’s Josh Allen and Baltimore’s Marquise Brown. Along with Brown, Hockenson is the highest-rated rookie on offense in this year’s game at release.
As for the rest of the Lions rookies, not another player is rated higher than a 70 overall out of the box. Here’s how the overall ratings shook out for the Lions draft class:
- Jahlani Tavai - 69 overall
- Amani Oruwariye - 68 overall
- Will Harris - 67 overall
- Isaac Nauta - 67 overall
- Austin Bryant - 66 overall
- Travis Fulgham - 66 overall
- Ty Johnson - 66 overall
- PJ Johnson - 62 overall
Madden NFL 20 is set to be released worldwide on August 2—but even earlier if you pre-order the Ultimate Superstar edition.
