Detroit Lions defensive tackle Damon Harrison Sr. plans to report to training camp Wednesday despite speculation that he would hold out, per NFL Networks Tom Pelissero.
Just said on @nflnetwork: #Lions star DT Damon “Snacks” Harrison tells me “I’ll be there!” when veterans report to camp Wednesday. He and CB Darius Slay sat out minicamp for contract reasons. Doesn’t sound like any new deal yet, but Snacks – a bigtime team leader – plans to show.

Per the report, Detroit has not yet reached a new deal with Harrison—who has no money guaranteed on the remainder of his deal.
Harrison arrived in Detroit mid-way through last season, when the Lions sent a fifth round pick to the New York Giants for the defensive tackle. He appeared in 10 games and transformed the teams defense with his presence upfront.
He sat out of minicamp earlier this offseason, suggesting he wanted a new deal before the start of this season.
While Harrison plans to report, the team still has another defensive star set to hold out of training camp. Darius Slay sat out of minicamp as well, likely because he, too, was in search of a new deal before the start of the season. There is still no official word or report on whether he plans to report this week.
