Hopefully 2019 will bring some big plays on the field.

The Fourth of July celebrations continue on, but football season is not that far away. Before we know it, the Lions will be taking the field against the Cardinals in the season opener. Perhaps 2019 will give fans more reasons to celebrate in Detroit, as the team continues to search for that elusive playoff win.

But even if the season as a whole does not turn out as hoped, there should be plenty of exciting players and moments over the course of the 16 games. The Lions are loaded with offensive players across the skill positions, and the defense has a quite a few noisemakers as well.

Today’s Question of the Day is:

Who will be the most explosive Lions player this season?

My answer: Even though offensive highlights typically steal the headlines, I cannot wait to see what Trey Flowers does in Detroit. We know that head coach Matt Patricia is going to give him every opportunity to impact the game, and if recent history is any indication, there are some big moments ahead.

Flowers has totaled 21 sacks over the past three seasons, with five forced fumbles as well. His presence should lead to some big plays from the secondary too, and the Lions are expecting him to make himself heard virtually each and every down. I believe Flowers will easily live up to his contract, and we should be seeing some gif-worthy moments from him soon enough.

Your turn.
