FOOTBALL IS BACK.

NFL: AUG 02 Hall of Fame Game - Bears v Ravens

The NFL 2019 season kicks off Thursday night!

Okay, that’s not exactly true. The 2019 preseason kicks off Thursday, as the Denver Broncos and Atlanta Falcons face off for the annual Hall of Fame Game. It may not be “real” football, and you’ll probably turn it off after the first quarter or some of you brave souls will make it to halftime, but it represents the return of football, and that’s all that matters.

If you’re a Detroit Lions fan, the only real personal intrigue this game offers is the Broncos—Detroit’s Week 16 opponent. The Broncos will reportedly be signing former Lions running back Theo Riddick, but that hasn’t happened yet and we obviously won’t see him on the field Thursday night.

I suppose the Broncos also may offer an interesting look at the other Iowa rookie tight end Noah Fant, if you want to obsess over whether the Lions got it right with T.J. Hockenson.

But if you’re looking to watch the game for Lions reasons or just because it’s football, dangit, here’s how you can tune in.
