The Detroit Lions are probably eager to get back on the field after last week’s lackluster performance against the New England Patriots. Of course, their 31-3 loss doesn’t really mean anything. They’ll be entering the regular season 0-0, just like everyone else.
But it never feels good to get outplayed in every phase of the game, backups or not. So Matt Patricia and company are hoping for a big turnaround Saturday night in Houston.
The Lions and Texans have been going at it all week in joint practices, and we’ll see how many of the starters from each team decided to give it a go on Saturday. For the Lions, fans are eager to see Matthew Stafford in his new offense, rookie tight end T.J. Hockenson for more than six snaps, and something exciting from the defense.
Will the starters play at all? Will Detroit bounce back from last week?
