The Detroit Lions were back at practice on Monday, and they had a few key members back on the field at Allen Park. Marvin Jones Jr. and Mike Daniels were practicing after staying in Detroit last week when the Lions traveled down to Houston for joint practices.

For Jones, it was his first practice back after missing just over a week’s worth of time for an undisclosed injury. Daniels has not been very active at any practices since signing with the Lions in late July, and he did not participate in joint practices last week, either.

Media is only privy to the individual workout portion of practice now that training camp is over, so we don’t know exactly how much they participated in Monday’s session. However, head coach Matt Patricia said the players would take it slow with both and evaluate their progress as the week goes.

“They’ll be out there and we’ll go through and see how they feel as they progress,” Patricia said.

While Jones and Daniels were back on Monday, there were some new faces sitting out of practice. Safety C.J. Moore, who was slow to get up during Saturday’s preseason game, was at practice, but not padded up. He stayed around his positional group, but did not go through any drills.

Additionally, edge defender Eric Lee, who played in 20 snaps against the Texans did not appear to be at practice. Wide receiver Tommylee Lewis was also not present.

Here’s a full list of players not participating in Monday’s practice:

  • QB Tom Savage
  • WR Tommylee Lewis
  • OL Tyrell Crosby
  • EDGE Eric Lee
  • DT Da’Shawn Hand
  • EDGE Austin Bryant
  • CB Teez Tabor
  • S C.J. Moore
  • LB Steve Longa

One positive note: Da’Shawn Hand was jogging for the individual part of practice with no protection on his left arm. In previous practices, he was sporting a brace or sleeve, but he appears to be progressing nicely.
