The Detroit Lions made the Damon Harrison Sr. one-year extension official on Thursday morning, locking up their key nose tackle for a third year. The deal is reportedly worth $11 million in his extra year and includes $12 million in immediate guarantees.
With the cat out of the bag, Harrison took to Twitter to express his appreciation both to the Lions and his fans and friends who had encouraged him throughout the past few months.
“Thank you everybody and thank you Detroit,” Harrison tweeted. “The continued support didn’t go unnoticed from Lions fans all year. I appreciate you guys and my family and I are excited to be continuing my career as a Lion. Huge thanks to BQ, Coach P, Rod, and the Ford family! #SnacksSZN8”
After the news broke on Wednesday night, several Lions players publicly congratulated Harrison, including teammate Darius Slay, who is also seeking a contract extension:

That appreciation didn’t go unnoticed with Snacks.
“It warms my heart to see fans of my former teams happy for me,” Harrison said in a follow-up tweet. “Thank you guys!! The love is felt and appreciated!! Y’all are forever a part of me!”
Of course, no Twitter moment is complete without a couple of GIFs, and Harrison didn’t disappoint:
