It’s that time of year again! Time for you to bug your coworkers and Twitter followers about your fantasy team like there’s anybody who actually cares!
Like every year, there isn’t. And like every year in the past decade, I won’t be taking part in anything fantasy football related. It’s a horrible spawn created by football fans who were more interested in numbers than the actual game itself. If you play fantasy football, you should be ashamed of yourself. Go look at yourself in the mirror, and then slap your reflection in the face.
But, also, if you play fantasy football, you may as well play it with us. Not me, of course, but some of the Pride of Detroit staff and community.
Like last year, Jerry Mallory is the commissioner of the official 2019 Pride of Detroit Fantasy League. Here are the details:
- Site: ESPN
- Draft: Monday, Sept. 2, 6 p.m. ET
- League type: PPR
- League size: 12 teams
There are currently 10 open spots in the league, so space is obviously limited. Spots are given to priority POD commenters—ones that have been around the longest and are amongst the most active. To put your name on the list, here’s what to do:
- Make sure you already have an ESPN account
- Check your Pride of Detroit profile to see if you public email is current
- Clear your schedule on Monday night
- Comment below saying you are interested in joining
That’s it! Submissions will end at Friday, August 30 at noon ET. So make sure you submit your request ASAP. Over the weekend, I will send out invitations to the league for the people that meet my requirements. If you don’t receive an invitation right away, stay tuned. We may need a filler.
If you don’t get selected, feel free to start some community leagues by gathering commenters in the FanPost section.
