Thursday open thread: What are you going to watch for in the final preseason game?

Is there anything worth paying attention to as the Browns take on the Lions?

NFL: Preseason-Detroit Lions at Houston Texans John Glaser-USA TODAY Sports

The dreaded fourth preseason game is upon us. There usually isn’t much to look forward to in the fourth preseason game, especially when all of the starters and even the majority of key backup players will sit out.

Right now the fourth preseason game is pretty much thought of as a complete waste of time league-wide. And after a few injury scares against the Bills, I’m all for ditching a few preseason games in the coming years.

That said, when the Detroit Lions take on the Cleveland Browns tonight, there are a few things I will actually pay attention to.

And that brings me to today’s question of the day:

What are you going to watch for in the final preseason game?

My answer: The rookies.

Not all of the rookies will be taking snaps Thursday night, but the majority of them should see significant playing time and valuable reps. I’m looking forward to seeing if Travis Fulgham can take grasps of one of the final wide receiver spots.

In our latest Bubble Watch, 80 percent of the staff picked Fulgham to make it on the final roster.

I also want to see if a guy like Amani Oruwariye can stand out. He finally started making some plays last week against the Bills, with four tackles and one pass defended. The entire cornerback group behind the starters has been underwhelming all preseason, so I’m looking to see if any of those guys, including Oruwariye, can make an impact in the final game.

Your turn.
