The Detroit Lions have made one injury move prior to the 53-man cutdown deadline. According to the Detroit Free Press, reserve center Leo Koloamatangi has been waived with an injury designation.

Once again left on the outside looking in, Koloamatangi has been waived for the third time in three seasons. The Lions have spent some time developing the former Hawaii center, but his third-team status in training camp all but signalled the end for his Lions tenure. He was surpassed on the depth chart by Luke Bowanko, who has already been cut, so this move doesn’t come as much of a surprise.

However, because he was waived/injured, Koloamatangi may stick with the team on injured reserve if he clears waivers. That way, Koloamatangi may get yet another shot next year.
