The roster cutdowns were just Phase 1 of roster building before the Detroit Lions’ season opener against the Arizona Cardinals.
Phase 2 begins on Sunday, as the Lions scour the waiver wire for potential players to add, then fill out their practice squad for the regular season. We’ll get to learn the fate of some of the players the Lions cut over the past two days: will any return? Will any find a spot on the 53-man roster of an opposing team?
Of course, the main attraction will be whether the Lions decide to add any additional talent to their 53-man roster. We know the Lions could still use some serious depth at offensive line and linebacker. With the eighth priority in waiver claims, will they find anyone who could help this team win in 2019?
Waiver claims are processed starting at noon ET, and teams will start filling out their practice squad around 1 p.m. ET. So stick right here as we update all of the Lions’ roster moves.
