The first set of waiver claims are coming in and the Detroit Lions have made at least one more addition. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Lions have claimed former Seattle Seahawks running back J.D. McKissic.
McKissic originally went undrafted in 2016, but has spent the past two season with the Seattle Seahawks. In his three-year NFL career, he has 50 rushes for 197 yards and 3.9 yards per carry.
For the Lions, he’ll bring some speed, some receiving options and potentially a kick and punt return option for Detroit in the immediate. Additionally, McKissic comes to Detroit with offensive scheme familiarity, seeing as he played under now Lions offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell.

As of now, we don’t know the corresponding transaction on the Lions roster. They will have to cut one more person shortly to remain under the 53-man roster limit.
