Who will stand out for the Lions on Sunday?

The Detroit Lions are set for their home opener against the Los Angeles Chargers this Sunday afternoon. The Lions are home underdogs after coughing up a late lead last week in Arizona. This should be an exciting game with two teams still trying to figure out who they are.

The Chargers are dealing with a myriad of injuries (don’t we say that every season?) including starters at offensive tackle, cornerback, safety, and tight end.

With all of those injuries, somebody on the Lions has to step up and take advantage. So that brings me to today’s question of the day.

Who will be the Lions’ X-Factor against the Chargers?

My answer: Mike Daniels

The Chargers offensive line wasn’t particularly good in pass protection before they lost offensive tackle Russell Okung. Now, they’re just trying to hold it together.

I expect Daniels to take over the interior of the line and wreak havoc on the not-so-mobile Philip Rivers throughout the game.
