Last week, the Detroit Lions tied for the first time since 1984. It was undoubtedly frustrating as a Lions fan, but perhaps even more frustrating as a predictor (this is a lie). Unless you were a sociopath, nobody predicted a tie, which means everyone is currently 0-1 with their Lions predictions for the 2019 season.
But we’re onto Week 2, and the staff appears to still be relatively high on the Lions. Their performance in the first three quarters of the Cardinals game was certainly promising, but the final quarter and overtime can’t exactly be ignored—especially when it was against 2018’s worst team in the league.
The Chargers themselves had a similar week to the Lions, albeit with a much more positive ending. But with Los Angeles’ injury report in midseason form, it’s clear many of us here are still picking the home team here.
Here’s a look at our staff predictions for Week 2:
Jerry Mallory (0-1): 27-24 Chargers
Alex Reno (0-1): 28-20 Lions
