NFL Week 3 announcers: Thom Brennaman, Chris Spielman to call Lions vs. Eagles

Many Lions fans will get their wish this week.

Detroit Lions v Tampa Bay Buccaneers

It’s always a fun conversation that follows when the broadcasting crews for each game are announced. Well, this week a lot of Detroit Lions fans are probably getting what they want.

For the Lions Week 3 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles on FOX, the two teams will host Thom Brennaman and Chris Spielman in the booth, along with Shannon Spake on the sidelines.

Spielman has obviously become a fairly popular announcer for the Lions due to his intimate knowledge of the team and his clear passion for the game—and maybe still for the Lions, too.

Of course, Spielman played linebacker for the Lions for eight season in the NFL, making four Pro Bowls in the process. He’s still somewhat involved with the organization, both as the local color commentator during the preseason and as a midweek analyst for DetroitLions.com

As for Brennaman, he is a seasoned vet at FOX sports with over 20 years of experience calling NFL games.

The game will kick off at 1 p.m. ET in Philly.
