Every year, the Detroit Lions create a new hype video that gets the Ford Field crowd bumping as the team readies to take the field. This year is no different, as the Lions partnered with the production company 160over90 to create a thrilling video.
Chris Burke of The Athletic has a full story on how the video was made this year. This year, the video was made as more of a tribute to the fans, rather than an explicit focus on the team itself.
The most notable part in the video is the inclusion of the 2014 playoff game in which Brandon Pettigrew was interfered with, but the officials in Dallas decided to pick up the penalty flag at a crucial moment. As the images from that moment cross over the screen, Michigan native Jeff Daniels narrates:
“I never thought a heart could break so many times and keep going, but I never knew a heart could feel so alive, either.”
- Danny Amendola was mic’d up for Sunday’s win over the Chargers. Stay for head coach Matt Patricia trying to get him hyped up before the game, stay for another Matthew Stafford goosebump-inciting pregame speech:
- Dan Orlovsky continues to be a must-follow on Twitter. Here he is breaking down what made Matthew Stafford so good on his game-winning touchdown throw:
Watch how much can actually go into QBing in the #NFL on any single play? @Lions QB Matthew Stafford picks up some “crumbs” left by the Chargers D and PREDETERMINES this throw-but also moves the problem with ! @PrideOfDetroit @MikeOHaraNFL #NFLGamepass pic.twitter.com/0uUnEU2g9c— Dan Orlovsky (@danorlovsky7) September 19, 2019
- Speaking of Stafford, he appeared on The Rich Eisen Show to talk about his family, his budding relationship with Kenny Golladay and, yes, more Clayton Kershaw talk:
- Chase Stuart over at Football Perspective noted that the Lions were surprisingly run-heavy in Week 2, despite trailing most of the game.
- Adam Gase is a meanie:
