It is nearly time for another bout of Thursday Night Football. Neither of the previous two weeks have garnered much excitement, as defenses have reigned supreme. This week’s match looks like it could be yet another defensive struggle.

The Tennessee Titans started the season with a dominant victory over the hyped Cleveland Browns, but they followed it up with a low-scoring loss to the Indianapolis Colts. Sitting at 1-1, they are in a three-way tie with the Houston Texans and the Colts, so a victory here against a division foe could prove critical to any postseason aspirations. They are hoping quarterback Marcus Mariota can reignite his team’s aerial attack, which has just 335 passing yards thus far. Running back Derrick Henry figures to be heavily involved, given his effectiveness running the ball.

The Jacksonville Jaguars, meanwhile, are trying to keep their season alive after their big offseason investment Nick Foles went out with an injury. In his stead is the mustachioed Gardner Minshew, whose late game heroics nearly won a pivotal tilt against the Texans last week. However, the coaches opted to take the ball out of Minshew’s hot hands on a potential game-tying two point conversion. Leonard Fournette attempted to plunge through the defensive line and was stuffed, and the comeback fell short.

Can the Titans finally make a run at the division title? Can the Jaguars find success with a late round rookie at the helm? Will this finally be an entertaining Thursday Night Football game?

Let’s find out.
