The Detroit Lions have earned a reputation over the past couple of... well, the past couple of decades, that they aren’t a team that can win big games on the road. It’s still early in the season, but I would say this Week 3 game against the Philadelphia Eagles would qualify.
Both teams are seeking their second win of the season. Both teams are currently chasing their respective undefeated division leader. Both teams have aspirations of not just a playoff berth, but some postseason noise, as well.
The Lions are coming into Philly as a big underdog, but they are the much healthier team and they’re coming off a win, whereas the Eagles are coming off a disappointing loss.
A big factor in today’s matchup will be simply which quarterback outduels the other. Matthew Stafford is off to a pretty hot start under new offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell, but Carson Wentz is a big-time play maker.
