It’s Week 4 of the NFL and Thursday Night Football features a match up between two teams quite familiar to the Detroit Lions.
The Philadelphia Eagles now sit at 1-2 in the NFC East after a disappointing loss to the Detroit Lions. If they want to maintain pace with the 3-0 Dallas Cowboys, a win tonight would be a great place to start. The Eagles had a banged up corps when facing Detroit this past Sunday, but they should have a few names returning in this Thursday tilt. Receiver Alshon Jeffery will rejoin Nelson Agholor and Zach Ertz as Carson Wentz’s top options.
The Green Bay Packers, meanwhile, enter Week 4 with a slim lead in the competitive NFC North at 3-0. Yet after victories over the Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings, and Denver Broncos, this will be their toughest test so far. For the first time in a while, the Packers are being led by an elite defensive unit with plenty of talent across every position. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers is still a threat in the aerial attack, but the Green Bay defense has been able to hold opposing teams to a mere 35 points combined.
Given how close the NFC North is, a Green Bay loss would be beneficial to the Lions’ cause. They will face the Packers in Week 6 after their bye, so all eyes are on the Eagles: can they slow down this Green Bay team?
