Real football starts Thursday night as the Chicago Bears open the 2019 season hosting the Green Bay Packers in the NFL’s 100th season kickoff.

And while there will be plenty of interest from Lions fans for the NFC North matchup tonight, many are already looking ahead to Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET when the Detroit Lions take on the Arizona Cardinals.

Despite both teams ending 2018 at the bottom of the NFL, this game is full of intrigue and interesting matchups.

Today’s Question of the Day is:

Which Lions vs. Cardinals matchup are you excited to watch?

My Answer: Matt Patricia vs. Kliff Kingsbury

To me, there’s no greater matchup in this game than the one on the sidelines between the two head coaches.

And there are some really good matchups:

  • The Lions’ defensive front vs. the Cardinals suspect offensive line
  • Kenny Golladay/Marvin Jones vs. an inexperienced secondary
  • The Lions’ shaky offensive line vs. Chandler Jones/Terrell Suggs

The list could go on, but it all begins and ends with the coaches.

Kingsbury and the Cardinals have been so shockingly vanilla throughout the preseason their players expect it to be “...kind of like Christmas, or Christmas Eve-type of deal.”

I can’t wait to see what the Cardinals try to do on offense and what Matt Patricia does to counter the Air Raid attack.

Your Turn.
