Sometimes it takes a good 12-24 hours for emotions to get out of the way.
The Detroit Lions’ 27-27 tie with the Arizona Cardinals was a letdown any way you put it. But speaking from personal experience, a game as disappointing as that will lead you down a dangerous emotional road. The pent-up frustration will cloud your judgment and cause you to miss the forest through the trees.
So Monday afternoon, some of the Pride of Detroit gang got together and tried to take a more nuanced, level-headed approach to recapping the game. Myself, Chris Perfett and John Whiticar jumped on our Twitch channel and had a good hour-long chat with some Lions fans about what we can take from this game, what went wrong, and how our outlook for the 2019 season has changed—if it has at all.
Topics vary from Taylor Decker to Matt Patricia’s overall philosophy to Darrell Bevell’s good game, and other misconceptions about what happened Sunday evening.
