With four teams remaining, we are just two weeks away from Super Bowl LIV. We’ve gotten overtime matches, big comebacks, Cinderella stories, you name it. It’s been a wild ride so far, and today we have two more matchups to look forward to.
At 3:05 p.m. ET, we have the unlikely heros, the Tennessee Titans, facing off against 2018’s NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs are favored by a touchdown currently, but can the Titans pull off three upsets in a row?
The primetime game (6:40 p.m. ET) features everyone’s least favorite team in the NFL, the Green Bay Packers versus the San Francisco 49ers. Please, for the love of God, do not let Aaron Rodgers into the Super Bowl.
Today’s Question of the Day is:
Who ya got?
My answer: What I want to happen actually lines up with what I think is going to happen for once, and I believe that the two favorites should be able to squeak out their respective wins. Both the Chiefs and 49ers are favored by a touchdown at their home stadium.
The 49ers are just too fundamentally sound and impressive in all phases. Kyle Shanahan is an absolute genius, which makes me jealous every single time I watch the 49ers play. The Titans may be one of, if not the hottest team right now, but I think their story ends today and Mahomes puts on a heck of a performance in front of his home crowd.
If I did have to pick one of these games to be an upset, it probably would be the Titans game. Vrabel knows how to beat the Chiefs and do his best to limit Mahomes. The blueprint has been laid by Matt Patricia, whom he knows very well, but it’s a lot easier planned than done.
For the Super Bowl matchup itself, I like the 49ers winning it all. They are too complete and too well-coached.
Anyone but the Packers.
Your turn.
