I’m gonna take a lot of flak for asking this question, I know. It’s a valid question, however. There have been many changes to the Lions staff this offseason, yet somehow we’re still where we started. In spite of bringing in defensive coordinator Cory Undlin, the Lions are undoubtedly still running Matt Patricia’s defense. Plus, reports suggest Patricia’s still going to call plays—so what’s new? Is Brayden Coombs and the special teams going to win the Lions six more games in 2020?
Question of the day: Have you given up on the Lions already in 2020?
My answer: To have given up would imply I had initial hope — so yes, but no.
I’m sure I’ll get suckered into believing in the team again after the draft and free agency and a few more staff changes. I hope I don’t. Time has proven that there are fundamental issues with Matt Patricia’s coaching, play-calling, scheming, and locker room operation and it’s going to take a lot for me to truly believe things will be different in 2020.
Your turn.
