The Senior Bowl is entering its third and final day of practices. Ask most scouts and media members, and they’ll tell you the week of practices is much more important than the game itself. With the coaching staff able to control the situational football, while also getting a long look at one-ones, seven-on-sevens and other drills that pinpoint individual skills, it’s easy to understand why.
Obviously, this week holds a higher important for the Detroit Lions than most other teams. They get an up-close-and-personal look at the prospects down in Mobile, as they are coaching the North team all week.
Thursday represents the final day of practice, and because I got a late start on the week (thanks, food poisoning), I’m just now catching up to the festivities.
Thursday’s practices begin at 1:30 p.m. ET with the Lions-coached North team. Practice should run just under two hours. After that, the South takes over at 4 p.m. for their two hours of practice.
Those lucky enough to be at home can watch the practices live on ESPNU. On Wednesday, they treated us to both Matt Patricia and Darrell Bevell mic’d up.
For those that are working or at school and can only check online, below is an NFL Draft Twitter list that will automatically update with plenty of media members live in Mobile. (Thanks, Chris Wesseling)
If you’re watching, feel free to share your own observations in the comment section below, and give us your favorite prospects from this week of practices at the Senior Bowl.
