Super Bowl LIV is now just days away, and it’s hard not to get swept up in the excitement, even as a Detroit Lions fan. These are two teams that are not only worthy of being in the championship game, but they’re two teams that we haven’t seen in the Super Bowl in quite some time. There’s no Tom Brady, there’s no Aaron Rodgers or Eli Manning or Ben Roethlisberger. We have two (mostly) likable teams that are really fun to watch.
So First Byte previews the game like we would a Detroit Lions game. Though there’s no guest this week, Ryan and Jeremy break down the game, which matchups will be most important on Sunday, and give some predictions as to what happens.
After that, we go through our favorite prop bets, and there are some wacky ones—as always. And we also sneak in our favorite new segment: TUA TALK!
Take a listen to our byte-sized podcast.
This week on First Byte: Super Bowl edition:
- The Chargers are parting ways with Philip Rivers! What does that mean for Tua Tagovailoa and the Detroit Lions?
- The Chiefs passing offense and the 49ers passing defense both rank second in the NFL. Who has the edge this week?
- Can the Chiefs stop the 49ers run game like they did with Derrick Henry or is San Francisco a whole different beast?
- Jimmy Garoppolo completed passes or “Joker” Academy Awards? Which one is higher? Halftime show shenanigans and more.
