Lions-Saints Thursday injury report: Marcus Davenport, Marshon Lattimore miss practice

The Detroit Lions may actually be heading into the game as the healthier team this week, as they continue to look somewhat healthy at this point in the season. As with Wednesday, only one player—special teamer C.J. Moore—missed practice. There was only one other change to the report from Wednesday, cornerback Darryl Roberts is new to the list with a hip injury.

That’s not insignificant, though. Mid-week injuries tend to be difficult to recover from in time for Sunday’s game, and Roberts has been the team’s best nickel cornerback since the Lions placed Justin Coleman on IR after Week 1. Outside cornerback Desmond Trufant is trending towards playing, but Detroit’s depth at the nickel position remains thin. If Roberts can’t play, the Lions may have to rely on Tony McRae to man the slot.

However, the New Orleans Saints may be in a trickier position. Defensive end Marcus Davenport and cornerback Marshon Lattimore both missed practice on Thursday after participating on Wednesday. Davenport, a key pass rusher for New Orleans, has yet to play in 2020 as he nurses an elbow injury, while Lattimore appears to have aggravated an existing hamstring injury. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the hamstring injury isn’t considered to be serious, but “with such a quick turnaround time, something to watch.”

Here’s a look at the full injury report for both teams:
