The Detroit Lions may be 1-3, but they’ll be heading into this week as road favorites to win on Sunday. The early Week 6 NFL lines are out, and according to BetOnline.AG, the Lions are three-point favorites over the 1-4 Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Lions will be coming off a bye week after their disappointing performance against a beat-up Saints team in Week 4. With head coach Matt Patricia on the hot seat, the Lions have little margin for error the rest of the way if they want to avoid a full restart of the franchise.
Meanwhile, the Jaguars are already mid-rebuild. The team has almost no remaining members from the 2017 team that was just a few plays away from their first Super Bowl appearance, and with the Gardner Minshew era officially started, the team is off to a slow start in 2020. They’ve now lost four straight games, handing the Dolphins, Bengals and Texans each their first wins along the way.
It’s been four years since the Lions have faced off against the Jaguars. The Lions won that game somewhat handily 26-19, but neither of these teams resemble that of the 2016 version of themselves. If the Lions can’t win this one—even on the road with fans in the stands—they may be the next team to hit the reset button.
