After a week of peace and serenity, Detroit Lions football is back to loom large over your Sunday. Whether you wanted it or not, it’s back again. That might be a threat, or it might be a foreboding doom, or a promise, who knows?
In a battle of cat teams, the Lions are headed down to Jacksonville to face the Jaguars. The two teams last met in 2016, with a Lions victory. Both teams in 2020 have a sole win apiece, a stalemate that is most likely to end on Sunday (but hardly guaranteed).
Plagues are a-pox across Detroit. Matthew Stafford hasn’t been playing well. The defense is being not quite so effective at doing that. Nevertheless, the Jaguars are the Jaguars—a stripped-down junker, fueled by internet memes about mustaches. As such, Vegas has the Lions as a road favorite, as bookies are naturally unmoved by trashy facial hair.
Will rest help the Lions to reset, or will they continue a downward trajectory? Is Minshew-mania a threat to Detroit? Somebody has got to win this game—unless they tie, but why you gotta bring that up in here?
