Lions vs. Jaguars injury updates: Frank Ragnow, DJ Chark, Josh Allen

The statuses of several key players for Sunday’s contest between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Detroit Lions remains up in the air a few hours before kickoff. But overnight, a few reports surfaced that may give us a hint as to who will be active and inactive come kickoff.

On the Jaguars side, two players remain game-day decisions. Star wide receiver DJ Chark Jr. missed all week of practice with an ankle injury suffered in Week 5, but he returned in a limited capacity on Friday. ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that Chark is actually “likely to play” on Sunday, but the Jaguars want to see him go through warmups before making a final decision. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero simply calls Chark a “game-time decision.”

The other player of interest is Jacksonville’s best pass rusher Josh Allen. The 2019 first-round pick was limited all week, but missed Friday’s practice. Pelissero reports that the outlook “doesn’t sound as promising” for Allen in comparison to Chark, suggesting the defensive end may miss his second straight game.

While there aren’t any direct reports for the Detroit Lions, there are some hopeful signs for starting center Frank Ragnow. The team traveled to Jacksonville on Saturday, and because Ragnow wasn’t downgraded to “out” that means he traveled with the team. Given that he returned to practice on Friday, he appears to be trending in the right direction and will have a shot on Sunday to test how he feels. If he can’t play, it will likely be Joe Dahl at center, as he was activated from injured reserve on Saturday.
