Detroit Lions vs. Jacksonville Jaguars first half open thread

Come watch as the Lions take on the Jaguars in Week 6 action.

The Detroit Lions are hanging on for dear life and it’s only Week 6. Sitting at 1-3 through four games, it feels like owner Sheila Ford Hamp could drop the hammer on the franchise if things go further south in the next couple of months. New coach, new general manager, maybe even a new franchise quarterback. All is possible if the Lions can’t get this ship righted before the season is over.

That start this Sunday in Jacksonville as the Lions face as close to a must-win game as you can get this early in the year. The Jaguars are a team that went full fire sale this offseason and they are sporting a young, inexperienced team. For them to struggle is expected. For the Lions—now Year 3 into the Matt Patricia era—there is no excuse. This should have been turned around long ago, and if they can’t show signs of improvement coming out of a bye week, it’s probably pretty safe to say they aren’t coming.

Anyways, feel free to chat about Sunday’s game as we await the fate of this franchise. Also, don’t forget about our virtual watch party over at Super Squares’ Twitch channel.
