Is the Detroit Lions’ performance vs. Jaguars sustainable or a one-off against a bad team?

Is this the start of a turnaround or delaying the inevitable?

The Detroit Lions finally put together a full game in the 2020 season, and it resulted in a surprisingly enjoyable game from start to finish. The Lions outscored the Jaguars 34-16, outgained them 403-275, won the turnover battle 2-1 and held the ball for three-fifths of the entire game. It was dominant, it was stressless, and it was a peek into what this team could actually be if firing on all cylinders.

However, this was a 1-4 Jacksonville Jaguars team and the Lions were actually road favorites in the game. So the question is: What’s next?

Can we brush off this Lions performance as simply a win over a bad team, or is this something the Lions can actually build upon and run with? Can we take solace in the fact that the Lions stymied a good rushing attack or is one good run defense performance not enough to convince you yet?

And when it comes to the status of Matt Patricia, how much time will this one win buy him? If Detroit falls back on old tendencies next week against the Falcons, is he right back on the hot seat?

We discuss all of this while breaking down everything that happened in the Lions’ Week 6 win over the Jaguars on this week’s episode of the PODcast.
