Everyone get some wood to knock on, because for the time being, the Detroit Lions are looking pretty healthy right now. Not only did Justin Coleman return to practice on Thursday after a five-week stint on injured reserve, but the Lions got three key players back who sat out on Wednesday.
Starting center Frank Ragnow, wide receiver Marvin Jones Jr. and defensive end Trey Flowers all participated in Thursday’s practice, although each were given the “limited” designation.
Having all three players would be huge for Detroit, as they prepare to face an Atlanta Falcons team coming off a dominant performance over the Minnesota Vikings. Ragnow has been one of the team’s best offensive linemen, while Trey Flowers is Detroit’s most consistently good player on defense. And while Jones is off to a slow start, his availability could be big this week against a poor Falcons secondary.
We’ll add the Falcons injury report once it goes live.
Speaking of the Falcons, they also saw a key player return to practice. Julio Jones was limited on Thursday after sitting Wednesday with an ankle injury that has lingered for a full month now.
However, defensive end Takkarist McKinley remains out, and Dante Fowler was downgraded from limited practice on Wednesday to no practice on Thursday. However, Tori McElhaney is reporting it’s more of a rest day for Fowler.
