In addition to a few roster moves that could impact Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons, the Detroit Lions also did some more roster shuffling on their practice squad.
Offensive lineman Beau Benzschawel and punter Arryn Siposs are both back on the 16-man practice squad after being cut earlier in the week. At the time, the Lions added offensive tackle Dan Skipper and running back Dalyn Dawkins to the practice squad. Unfortunately for Dawkins, he has been released just two days later. In addition to Dawkins, the Lions are also cutting tight end Matt Sokol from the practice squad.
Benzschawel and Siposs are both solid depth for Detroit in case of emergency. Usually a guard, Benzschawel was repping at center during practice after the Lions signed him as an undrafted rookie last year. Siposs reportedly was neck and neck with Jack Fox in training camp as the team’s starting punter. If Fox were to get injured or sick, Siposs could slip in seamlessly.
