For the second-straight week, the Detroit Lions have made fifth-round rookie receiver Quintez Cephus a healthy inactive.
Early in the season, Cephus was able to get some playing time because No. 1 receiver Kenny Golladay was battling a hamstring injury. In the first two weeks of the season, Cephus pulled in a total of six catches for 97 yards. In Week 1 against the Bears, Cephus appeared to be one of Matthew Stafford’s favorite receivers, as he was targeted a team-high 10 times that game. But as Golladay got healthier, Cephus’ role declined, and now it appears the Lions prefer to have him develop on the bench.
Joining Cephus as a healthy scratch are Bo Scarbrough, who was just activated from IR on Saturday, and fellow rookie Logan Stenberg.
As expected, cornerback Desmond Trufant is inactive due to a hamstring, and Miles Killebrew is inactive because of a personal issue.
For the Falcons, defensive end Takkarist McKinley is ACTIVE despite dealing with a lingering groin injury.
