Everson Griffen trade: Instant reactions to the Detroit Lions’ aggressive move

We break down the Everson Griffen trade from every angle we can imagine.

For the third straight year, the Detroit Lions were active near the trade deadline, so the PODcast crew had to convene against for a EMERGENCY PODCAST.

Everson Griffen is not the player he was in his prime. We all know that. But the Lions’ pass rush remains one of the worst in the league, even with some of its recent improvements. Griffen is a player who was productive last year, was being misused on his new team this year, and will be coming to Detroit with plenty of motivation.

So the crew breaks down what they like about the trade, what they didn’t like about the trade, and how it impacts the players currently on the team. Also, does this mean the Lions are done with the trades? Or should this just be the tip of the iceberg for Detroit’s deadline moves?

Finally, we address the elephant in the room: This looks a lot like the Damon Harrison Sr. trade the 3-3 2018 Lions made. We discuss why this trade could be different this time around.

You can listen to the emergency podcast below or on your favorite podcast platform, but that’s just one way to consume our audio content. The PODcast is also on our YouTube page, and you can watch us chat LIVE on our Twitch channel.
