Sunday Night Football open thread: Cowboys at Eagles

The NFC LEast headlines Sunday Night Football.

As if a disappointing Lions loss isn’t bad enough, we have to watch the NFC East on Sunday Night Football.

The Philadelphia Eagles sit atop the division with an appalling 2-4-1 record. They are coming off a Thursday Night Football victory over the New York Giants, but just barely. A 22-21 win over a bottom feeder like the Giants does not reflect well on the Eagles. Any slip up in a closely fought division could be the difference between the playoffs and a top ten draft pick.

Back when this game was first scheduled, the broadcasters were likely expecting a battle between Dak Prescott and Carson Wentz and two competitors in the NFC. However, not only are both of these teams awful, but the Cowboys will be trotting out Ben DiNucci as their starting quarterback. The seventh round rookie from James Madison will get his first career start with backup Andy Dalton also suffering an injury. Things are not ideal for Dallas, but due to the division’s ineptitude, they are still in the playoff hunt at 2-5.

Here’s how to watch tonight’s game:
