It is a tale of two teams on Sunday Night Football. One of them is continuing to build upon last season’s success, while the other is struggling to attain a new identity.
The Baltimore Ravens had a lot of expectations after a 14-2 season ended prematurely in the playoffs at the hands of the Titans. So far, the Ravens are keeping the momentum, even if Lamar Jackson is not the superstar he was last year. A 6-2 record puts them behind the Steelers in the AFC North, so a late season push for the division could be in the cards for Baltimore.
The New England Patriots also suffered an early postseason exit thanks to Tennessee. However, they are struggling to match their 12-4 record in a post-Tom Brady era. A win over the New York Jets elevated the team to 3-5, but after a string of losses in the weeks prior, things are still grim. Add in the Bills reigning supreme over the AFC East, and the Dolphins on the rise, and the Patriots could be in a new position near the bottom of the division.
