After watching a Lions team that looked flailing and helpless against what is arguably the worst offense in the league in the Washington Football Team, I’m left feeling whatever the opposite of inspired is. I’m on the tank train and you should be too. Don’t believe me? Just look at the schedule for the rest of the season.
Question of the day: Will the Lions win another game this season?
My answer: Let’s just say that I would not be shocked if they didn’t; that’s a kind way of phrasing it.
The Lions’ remaining seven opponents are, in this order, the Carolina Panthers, the Houston Texans, the Chicago Bears, the Green Bay Packers, The Tennessee Titans, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the Minnesota Vikings. Three of those teams have already beaten the Lions this season, and two of the remaining four are reasonable Super Bowl picks. I’m not liking the odds.
At this point their best bet has got to be this week against the Carolina Panthers, and I only see that being a possibility because starting quarterback Teddy Bridgewater may miss the game. This Lions team is playing about as well as you’d expect for the week before Thanksgiving, and in case you forgot what happened the last time the Lions played Houston on thanksgiving, well...
It’s entirely possible the Lions eke out a win against a Bears team that is still worse than their record, or maybe they give a valiant Thanksgiving effort to defeat the Texans. Just don’t put money on it.
