Sunday Night Football open thread: Chiefs at Raiders

The AFC West heats up.

Since we were deprived of a Detroit Lions football game today, we instead have to enjoy some Sunday Night Football.

The Las Vegas Raiders have bounced back nicely from a modest 7-9 final season in Oakland, currently sitting at 6-3 with a good chance of making the playoffs. They had a few hiccups early in the season, but things are looking up after three-straight wins. They will face a tough task tonight against the Kansas City Chiefs, but there is a positive: they delivered the Chiefs their lone loss back in Week 5.

The Chiefs are once again looking like Super Bowl contenders, and their reign of terror against defenses has been staggering. The Chiefs are averaging over 30 points per game, absolutely dunking on the Broncos and Jets in weeks 7 and 8. The defense has had a few hiccups, including giving up 31 points to the Panthers last week and 40 points in their loss to the Raiders. The Chiefs will have to put the clamps on the Raiders offense if they want to avoid a season sweep.

Here’s how to watch tonight’s game:
