Sunday Night Football open thread: Bears at Packers

The Bears try to bounce back against the Packers.

In a competitive year, a division match between the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears would be of interest to Detroit Lions fans. However, things have gone off course for the Lions, and which team is competing for the NFC North is hardly important.

The Packers are looking like the kings in the division with a 7-3 record and nobody really competing with them. The Packers dropped an overtime shootout against the Colts last week, but the team has plenty of optimism going forward. Their offense remains near the top of the league, and the Davante Adams show continues to dominate defenses.

The Bears are only going backwards, and a win tonight would be crucial to staying alive in the playoff hunt. Four-straight losses, three of them with below 20 points, are demonstrating the true colors of the Bears offense. With Nick Foles out, the team will turn to Mitchell Trubisky, but the move sparks little excitement. Their defense remains stout, but the offense is appalling with fewer positives. They will have to ball out tonight to keep up with Green Bay, barring a shutdown from the defense.
