As noted by our own Mansur Shaheen earlier in the day, Week 8 in the NFL was defined by all of the surprising upsets. As a result, nearly half of our experts had a .500 record or worse picking the games straight up. Only one expert—a guy named Jeremy Reisman—managed to post double digit wins out of the 14 games played.
Pat on the back aside, Week 8 was a pleasant reminder that nothing is guaranteed in the NFL. And that seems to have resonated with our staff this week. In all 14 Week 9 games, there are currently only two games where the staff has unanimously picked a winner:
Hell, even Thursday night’s game between the Packers and an absolutely decimated 49ers roster has one detractor.
As for the big Detroit Lions vs. Minnesota Vikings game, the staff is fairly split... for now. Obviously, Matthew Stafford’s availability could change things in a hurry, but for now only two brave staffers have picked Detroit over their in-division rivals.
Here’s a look at the rest of our staff picks for Week 9.
