The Detroit Lions have placed yet another player on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Practice squad safety Jalen Elliott is now the third Lions player to be placed on this list this week, joining linebacker Jarrad Davis and quarterback Matthew Stafford.
Per NFL rules, the Lions have not provided any additional information on the situation, so we do not know if this is the result of a positive test result or if Elliott—like Stafford—was placed on the list for coming into close contact with someone who has tested positive.
Earlier in the day, head coach Matt Patricia noted that he didn’t expect any other players to be added to the COVID-19 list due to Stafford’s placement on the list on Wednesday.
“No one in the building was impacted by Matthew Stafford going on the list,” Patricia said. “So, we’ll just take them case by case.”
This is actually Elliott’s second time on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Elliott was among five Lions players initially placed on reserve/COVID back in late July. He was taken off the list two weeks later.
