Detroit Lions interim head coach Darrell Bevell passed his first test, albeit by the skin of his teeth. Bevell was able to bring a level of success this Lions offense hasn’t had in months, if not years, as the Detroit Lions slid by the failing Chicago Bears last week.
This week present an entirely different challenge, though. The Green Bay Packers aren’t on a five-game losing streak. They aren’t an inherently flawed team that was never as good as their record showed. And while Bevell may find some more success on offense this week, Detroit’s success likely depends on their ability to somehow slow Aaron Rodgers and the Packers offense.
Given how Detroit has played defensively this year—including last week against Chicago’s pathetic offense—it doesn’t seem likely Bevell has the unfindable answers. And that’s exactly what our staff this thinking this week. 11 of 13 people on the Pride of Detroit staff are taking the Packers this week, and of the 11 who picked a score, everyone had the Packers putting up at least 30 points.
